Dear Member:
For almost 50 years, the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (INEOA) has endeavored to provide its membership with the finest training available in all areas of narcotic enforcement activities to the dedicated men and women who are our first line of defense against the illegal drugs.  Formally chartered as an association under the laws of the State of New York in November 1960, INEOA has endeavored throughout its existence to promote and foster cooperation, discussion, and interest in the worldwide problems of narcotic trafficking and drug abuse.  Further, INEOA is committed to providing recognition to law enforcement officers, whether members of INEOA or not, who have distinguished themselves in the line of duty.  Each year the Association presents recognition awards to courageous and dedicated officers from around the globe for their contributions in the area of Drug Enforcement.

Since the organization’s establishment, thousands of law enforcement officials have taken advantage of the training and educational resources provided by INEOA, with over 15,000 individuals becoming members since the Association’s inception.  In addition to narcotic officers from all levels of government both in the United States and worldwide, individuals from the medical, scientific, and educational fields have joined, providing invaluable experience and knowledge from their respective areas of expertise.

INEOA is managed by its Board of Directors consisting of active members together with the officers of the Association.  As a member, have you ever thought about joining the leadership team at INEOA?  I am reaching out to our membership, looking for candidates who would like to run for positions on INEOA’s Board of Directors and contribute to the continued evolution of our Association.  With your help we can continue this effort into the future.  You know what an impact INEOA made on you.  In many ways you are who you are today because of your membership in INEOA; the acquaintances you’ve made, and what you’ve learned at our training conferences.  I hope you will help us continue that sort of impact for others.

If you are interested and willing to make this commitment to INEOA’s future, please complete the attached Candidate Application and forward it to John Ryan, INEOA’s Executive Director. In June 2008 I will convene INEOA’s Nomination Committee to review Candidate Applications, and subsequently notify all those selected in time for the 2008 Conference.  If selected, you will have the opportunity during the annual conference to address those members in attendance as a prelude to elections which will be held at the annual Business Meeting.
